Don't Cheat In Our Home Town (Opis:Had it not been for1983's Don't Cheat in Our Hometown, country music might never have known Ricky Skaggs as they've come to know and love him today. It's a little known fact that a tape of 'roughs' that would become Ricky's third venture into the country music mainstream is the music that secured his record deal in the first place. He'd been working on his second release for a smaller label when divine intervention put him on an airplane with a country music record executive. Conversation ensued, which then lead to a meeting between Skaggs and Epic Records. The rest, as they say, is history. "Don't Cheat In Our Hometown" was listed on People magazine's 'Ten Best of the 80's,' along with albums recorded by Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson and Prince, the only country album to be included on the list. A must-have for collectors, Don't Cheat in Our Hometown is the third installment in a ReIssue Series of Ricky Skaggs' country music treasures and includes a bonus retrospective DVD - A Retrospective: In My Own Words After More Than 25 Years - which features Ricky, in his own words, reminiscing about the making of what is truly one of country music's monumental recordings.
