Songs From The Seven Hills

Opis

Songs from the Seven HillsOpis:Product DescriptionA new album from the celebrated UK pianist, Alex Hutton, in which he explores his childhood background."On his second album as a leader, pianist Alex Hutton reveals a rich vein of composing skills in the 'Songs for Seven Hills' - a soundtrack to his childhood memories of life in and around the city of Sheffield. Memory often takes on a dream-like quality, and the music here reflects this, with echoes of children's song, church music, folk song, and classical impressionism, but always with a jazz musician's sense of daring." - Jim Mullen"I like writing uplifting melodic music for piano bass and drums, and the challenge of saying something new down this well travelled road...my music is a mix of contemporary hard swinging jazz with a definite European flavour" - Alex Hutton Personnel: Alex Hutton -(piano), Mike Janisch - (bass), Enzo Zirilli - (drums) with Ben Davis - (cello - 8,9)Review(4 stars) Improvisations that join an affectingly hooky melodic knack to a rich and freewheeling impressionism as his speculations open out... -- The Guardian, (John Fordham), July 18, 2008(4 stars) On the gorgeous 'Fox House', Hutton's doleful, chiming piano is reminiscent of EST and segues brilliantly into shuffling funk... -- Jazzwise, (Selwyn Harris), August 2008...

It's a set that will stand high among UK jazz achievements at the year's end. -- The Guardian, (John Fordham), July 18, 2008...

While a lot of new British jazz is going for the jugular this excellent album takes the more scenic route. -- Jazzwise, (Selwyn Harris), August 2008Autor:Alex Hutton TrioNośnik:Audio CDPłyt:Język: Data wydania: 2008-12-19Waga: 0.18 gramWysokość: 0.6 cmSzerokość: 5 cmDługość: 5.6 cmNew Store StockUWAGA: Kupując produkt na tej aukcji zgadzasz się na wydłużony termin realizacji wysyłki (10-14 dni roboczych).
