The Very Best Of The Coasters [Double Cd]

Opis

The Very Best Of The Coasters [Double CD]Opis:Given their relative anonymity compared to Atlantic Records label-mates and contemporaries the Drifters and the Motown groups that followed them, the Coasters have slipped through the cracks of popular music history. Not so their classic R&B singles, which are still played on radio and are credited by some as sowing the seeds of rap. The Coasters were, in the opinion of noted rock writer Dave Marsh, 'the funniest group in rock'n'roll history', while author and historian Arnold Shaw described their music as 'ebullient, energising, entertaining, expressive and danceable.' High praise indeed - and as these discs confirm, well deserved.
