Don't Believe The Hyperreal

Opis

Don't Believe The HyperrealOpis:Ariel Sharratt and Mathias Kom are more commonly known to the music-listening public as two-fifths of The Burning Hell. Here, they present to you a collection of songs more suited to intimate gatherings than the stadium stages and cruise ships on which they are accustomed to performing. This recording features eight songs about love in its various guises: The cocksure melancholy of "What You Want" is followed by the semi-autobiographical anthem "Fuck The Government, I Love You", and the latter composition provides a musical bridge between this duo recording and the forthcoming Burning Hell album, appearing as it does in different forms on both. The recording's coda is the heartbreaking "Eugene & Maurice", based on the true lives and even truer love of illustrator/author Maurice Sendak and his lifelong partner, the psychoanalyst Eugene Glynn. For fans of: Bill Callahan, Jonathan Richman, Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan.
