CharmerOpis:Product Description "One of the finest songwriters of her generation." The New York Times. "One of the top 10 living songwriters along with Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen."National Public Radio. Influenced by what Mann calls the "superpop" of the 70s and 80s, the album is her first release since 2008's celebrated #%&*! Smilers, which the BBC website called "undeniably beautiful." The album also includes a duet with James Mercer of The Shins on "Living a Lie." Mann will support the new album with tour dates this autumn.

Review 'She and her foils tap a seam of pure gold… special… rich… acute.' --Mojo ****'Smart psyche baring songs' --Uncut 8/10'There's a real spring in Aimee Mann's step on her eight studio album. Though her subject matter often heads in downbeat direction, she brings home the 11 songs with concise, keenly observed lyrics set to dynamic arrangements.

She kicks off in style with the power pop chug of the title track while a telling duet with The Shins' James Mercer called Living A Lie also hits the mark.

Perhaps the most affecting song is Gumby, the heart-rending story of a compulsive hoarder who carries on wile his daughter becomes homeless.
