Beethoven: The Piano Sonatas, Volume VI (Opp 54, 57, 78, 79 & 81a)Opis:Product DescriptionVolume VI of András Schiff's much acclaimed live Beethoven cycle in chronological order, recorded live from Zurich's Town Hall, produced by Manfred Eicher. Offers five masterworks from the so-called "middle period" ie the first decade of the 19th century, when among other groundbreaking compositions, the "Eroica" Symphony was written. The CD features two of his most popular sonatas, those named 'Appassionata' (No 23 in F minor) and 'Les Adieux' (No 26 in E flat) as well as the neglected Op 54 Sonata, and Opp. 78 and 79. Like all Schiff's Beethoven recitals, some sonatas were played on a Bösendorfer, others on a Steinway.
In 2006 Schiff completed his cycle in major European cities (including London, Birmingham and Bristol) although touring with individual Beethoven programmes continues. The booklet contains a highly enlightening interview by Martin Meyer with András Schiff. Critical acclaim for the first five albums: "We are in for a memorable and individual cycle." (Sunday Times, on Vol I "One of the great Beethoven sonata sets." (Fanfare, on Vol II) "A distinguished instalment in an outstanding cycle." (The Observer, on Vol III) "Stimulating and provocative...a magnificent release." (BBC Music Magazine 5-star review for Vol 4) "András Schiff leads the pack of top pianists recording Beethoven sonatas. His touch with these middle-period works is revelatory." (Album of the Week, The Independent, on Vol V) Personnel: András Schiff - (Bösendorfer and Steinway pianos)Review(4 stars) An assertive no-nonsense touch...
Schiff keeps the ensuing Allegretto skipping along with a vernal freshness. -- Classic FM Magazine, (Philip Clark), August 2008(5 stars) Exhilarating accounts of some of Beethoven's quirkiest works...what riches they deliver...all abundantly and robustly realised...electrifying and perpetually fresh. -- BBC Music Magazine, (Michael Turner), July 2008Enchanting and unusual works...the exquisite F sharp major, Op. 78 is one of the purest gems of Beethoven's 32 sonatas. -- International Record Review, (Stephen Pruslin), July/August 2008One admires Sciff's depth of thought and his precision...his dry wit and delicacy has much to recommend it. -- International Piano, (Colin Anderson), July/August 2008This modus operandi sheds fresh and convincing textural light on familiar passages. -- Gramophone, (Jed Distler), September 2008Autor:Ludwig van BeethovenNośnik:Audio CDPłyt:Język: English: Published; EnglishData wydania: 2008-12-31Waga: 0.24 gramWysokość: 0.4 cmSzerokość: 5 cmDługość: 5.6 cmUWAGA: Kupując produkt na tej aukcji zgadzasz się na wydłużony termin realizacji wysyłki (10-14 dni roboczych).
