The Planets One [VINYL]Opis:ReviewGreat new music like this one by Al Ross & The Planets with a sort of 90s house piano feel crossed with REM.
This is Walking In Circles ....... ... Al Ross & The Planets, and that's something a bit different isn't it, I really like that. Great harmonies and piano going on there. You might remember the band from the early 90s. Al Ross & The Planets with shades of Andy Partridge from XTC, with Elvis Costello a bit. Great feel and rhythm about that. Walking In Circles , once again Al Ross & The Planets, here on 6 Music. --BBC 6 Music - Chris HawkinsProduct DescriptionDebut album from cult rhythm and blues band Al Ross & The Planets. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios (Studio 2), engineered by Chris Bolster and mastered by Alex Wharton, the album consists of eleven brilliant tracks written by the band. In the early nineties, Al Ross & The Planets were one of the most popular live bands in London. Having started life playing the Soho Blues clubs, and iconic venues such as The Camden Palace, the legendary Brahms and Liszt, the Road House, the Cavern (Liverpool) and all the venues that were popular at the time, Laura Lee Davies (Time Out music critic) claimed that seeing The Planets was one of the best nights out in London. The Planets performed in many parts of the world and became one of the top live acts in the UK, playing brilliant frenzy inducing sets at London's classic music venues. In 2018, the band decided to get back together to record some of the original songs they had written over the years at Abbey Road Studios. Their debut album 'The Planets One' was released to critical acclaim.
